Phasor Maintenance completed an exciting project this week in a Donaghmede school. We transformed two standard class rooms into two high spec computer rooms, which will be used to teach I.T to the entire school.
The process involved running a fibre optic cable from the local communication cabin into the room. This cable will support the high-speed broadband service required by all of the desktop computers in the room. One of the challenges faced on this project was to figure out a way to supply the cables to each desk without limiting the view from any desk in the room. Cat6a cabling was the perfect solution to address this issue. It offers faster speeds and physically it causes less obstruction at each desk, ensuring the learning environment is as seamless and safe as possible for all students.
Following that, we ran in four new circuits to the class room, a circuit for each row of desks and one for the comms. cabin and put them on all on their own RCBO’s (residual-current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection) ensuring optimal safety levels were put in place on the project.
Both the teaching staff and principal were very satisfied with the final result and we hope both students and teachers alike enjoy working and learning in their new high-tech environment. For more information on this or any other facilities management project or fitout contact us.
